How we compare servers

Valebyte compares VPS, cloud and dedicated server plans from independent hosting providers. This page explains exactly where every number comes from, so you can check it yourself.

Where prices come from

We read prices directly from each provider: public pricing APIs where they exist (for example Vultr, Akamai/Linode and OVHcloud) and the provider's own pricing pages otherwise. We never type prices by hand and we do not copy them from other comparison sites.

How often they update

Prices, locations and stock are refreshed automatically every day. Every page shows the date of the last check. If a provider removes a plan, it disappears from the tables at the next update. If a source fails, we keep the last good data instead of showing a half-empty table.

How we normalize prices

• Monthly price, without VAT. Hourly plans are shown at their monthly cap. Taxes depend on your country, so we leave them out everywhere.
• One currency. Prices in EUR, GBP and other currencies are converted to USD at the European Central Bank reference rate of the day. The original price is shown under the converted one, and you always pay in the provider's currency.
• Configurable dedicated servers are priced in their cheapest valid configuration: base rental plus the cheapest mandatory RAM, disk and bandwidth options. One-time setup fees are listed separately.
• Location prices. When a provider charges more in some data centers, country pages show the price for that country.

How plans are ranked

Tables are sorted by price (or by the sort you choose). Commission never changes the order, the filters or the "quick picks", which are computed from the same data: cheapest, most RAM per dollar, cheapest with dedicated vCPU and so on. Providers that pay us nothing, such as Hetzner and OVHcloud, are listed on equal terms.

How we make money

Some "View deal" buttons are affiliate links. If you buy, the provider may pay us a commission. You pay the same price. That is how we keep the site free and without ads.

Found a wrong price?

Providers change offers often. If something looks off, the provider's page is always the final word, and we fix data errors at the next update.
